Our semi final against Wiltshire was always going to be tough. However all our Somerset girls played really well over the 21 ends & deserved to win. Laura’s rink won 29 – 14 and Becky’s rink 17 – 14 & this meant we were through to the Regional final.

After a short break the girls went back out on the green for another 21 end match against Worcestershire. Our girls played their hearts out, built up heads but weren’t always able to keep the shots there as the running woods bowled by the Worcestershire skips took them away.

Playing 2 matches, each of 21 ends, makes it a tiring day for everyone but Somerset Girls did us & themselves proud. Well done Scrumpies for getting through to the Regional Final. It’s disappointing not to have got through to Leamington – but we’ll build on that & be ready for the challenge again next year.

Many thanks to our Somerset supporters, our B.E. rep., umpire & to Devizes BC who were very well organised hosts.
